What’s the Ideal Voltage for Delta-8 Vape Carts?

Let’s say you’ve got your hands on a premium delta-8 vape cart. Great! You might still have some questions, including questions about what type of voltages and batteries work best in vape carts.

Wondering what type of voltage for THC vapes is ideal? If so, keep reading, because this article is for you.

What’s the best voltage for THC carts?

The right delta-8 vape voltage makes everything better. Finding the right voltage setting can tangibly improve your vaping experience. Here are some tips.

Think of it this way: you want your THC to be hot, but not too hot. And not too cold either! The right voltage will provide just enough power to get into this ‘goldilocks’ zone.

The best voltage for delta-8 carts

Delta-8 THC is one of the most interesting legal cannabinoids — and vaping is one of the easiest ways to enjoy it!

The best delta-8 THC cart battery voltage is generally in the 3.3-3.8 volt range. Below that voltage, most distillates don’t fully vaporize. Above that voltage, some distillates will begin to burn and you’ll lose too many of the terpenes. As we said, there’s definitely a sweetspot in terms of battery voltage settings.

What’s the best battery for delta 8 carts?

The battery on most vape pens can be easily adjusted with the click of a button. Some vape pens feature a rotating knob that makes them even more adjustable.

At Think Apollo our batteries can be adjusted between three temperature settings. Their voltage range is specifically designed to heat up its delta-8…without overheating the entire cart. The more battery settings a battery has, the higher its quality is likely to be.

Why you shouldn’t go too hot

The very worst thing you can do is overheat your delta-8 oil. Excess heat degrades both delta-8 and terpenes, resulting in less energizing effects. It can also make your oil taste ‘off’ pretty quickly.

When in doubt, stay low and go slow. Lower your heat setting immediately if you notice your oil beginning to taste or smell burnt. Other signs that your heat setting is too high include:

  • Sour, ashy, or copper-ish aftertastes
  • Increased drowsiness after vaping
  • Reduced longevity of the cart
  • Harsh, smokey mouthfeel

Keeping your cart at a lower heat setting, on the other hand, is usually completely harmless. The worst thing that can happen is that not enough vapor will be created.

All in all, finding the right voltage and heat setting for your vape cartridge is actually pretty simple. Kick back, set your battery to a low-medium setting, and take your time enjoying each draw. You really can’t go wrong if you don’t rush things.
